Bernard has more than 20 years' experience in investment management, starting his career in 1999 at one of South Africa's largest private wealth managers.  After qualifying as Chartered Financial Analyst, he 10 years as an institutional investment consultant at various consulting teams (Absa, Old Mutual and SEI), where he advised large corporations (Sasol, Vodacom, Absa Group, KWV) and state-owned enterprises (Eskom & Transnet) on asset allocation policies and fund selection for their respective retirement funds.

The next 10 years, Bernard focused on investment strategies and research for Ultra-high net worth families and independent wealth managers, first as a director at Stonehage Fleming & Partners and later as Head of Investments at a discretionary fund manager.

Bernard is a member of the CFA Institute and the Investment Analysts Society of Southern Africa.
